Job Description

The Digital Consulting Services branch of Zafy Tody is looking for talented hands-on technical developers to help accelerate the digitization of our Enterprise customers as well as our incubated Startups.

As an experienced professional in your area, you will help them make decisions on their Cloud journey. This role combines thought leadership with cutting code, designing architectures, and helping build system components as above-mentioned customers move and build new applications in the Cloud. It will help shape, execute, and deliver solutions for a broad range of use cases.

In this role as a Cloud architect/developer, you will work with our customers in architecting, developing and re-engineering applications that can fully leverage the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud.

AWS is supporting Zafy Tody and all its incubated startups by providing various benefits including yearly free platform credits, technical support and direct access to AWS Solution Architects, etc.

You will therefore specialize on AWS services and technologies, and we will provide you with a training path enabling you to get specific AWS Certifications after a minimum of 1 or 2 year-time period depending on the certification(s) being selected e.g. Cloud Practitioner, Developer, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Security, etc.

We are looking for software engineers who are self-driven, embrace innovation to deliver meaningful results, and who excel in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
The ideal candidate must be passionate about code quality, demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills, possess the ability to work independently, and be a self-starter with a bias towards independent problem solving and dealing with ambiguity.

More specifically, he or she is passionate about:

• Architecting and developing customer applications to be Cloud optimized
• Providing deep software development knowledge with respect Cloud architecture, design patterns and programming
• Writing clean, production ready code that reliably manages enterprise workloads and handles failures in real world environments at scale
• Actively engaging with and nurturing open source communities to find and address the most important challenges
• Working as both an infrastructure and application development specialist
• Implementing DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration and automated deployment (CI/CD)

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field. Proven autodidact candidates are also welcome.
• 2+ years of professional experience in software development
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture of new and current systems
• Customer facing skills to represent Zafy Tody well within the customer’s environment and drive discussions with technical personnel regarding design, development and architecting best practices
• Strong practical application development experience on Linux and Windows-based systems
• Agile software development
• Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins)
• Strong verbal and written communications skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing and developing applications in a Cloud environment
• Hands-on programming skills in some of the following: Java, .NET (C#), Python, Node.js, Ruby, C/C++, Perl, or Scala
• Hands-on development skills with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
• Experience diagnosing performance problems and tuning code, SQL, and deployment architectures to improve performance
• Experience migrating applications from one OS to another (ex. Solaris to Linux) or from one database to another (ex. Informix to Oracle)
• Experience with unit or automated testing tools (e.g. Junit, TestNG)
